They do not understand how vastly my world perception differs from theirs. There is a chair in the reception of the Police Station. You see a piece of furniture made of wood. It’s coarse to the touch, has four legs and a place to sit your fat behind down for a rest.

Navigating the narrow streets of Simontown was a chore in Dixie’s one year old Monaco Olympus IV motor home. Weighing in at a massive 30 tons and being just over 12 meters in length the vehicle was not easy to drive, but Dixie handled her like a champion. When he imported “Delilah” – as he likes to calls her – from the overseas retailers, he opted to go for the Ralph Lauren Windermere colour scheme. This made her glisten like a big black pearl in the Cape sun and even a blind person could not miss her.

Chapter 4

A customary mist was hanging over Cape Town’s inner city the morning Captain Smalls and Detective Khumalo decided to pay Dixie Bannerman a visit. It settled amongst the buildings like a blanket and the morning sun could not fully penetrate. If you looked out your window, you would not even be able to see the world famous table mountain. It was not yet summer and not quite winter anymore, but as expected with South African weather it was a pleasant day. Perfect for an afternoon nap after reading a good book.
