The idea behind Kalila is a simple one.  It seems like in most comics the strongest and toughest are always male heroes – Superman, Hulk, Thor – well, I wanted to change that in BNW.

Kalila is the strongest Earthling by some margin – I also like that she is a “badguy” – depending on your perspective.  She wants revenge on Western forces for killing her Husband and Child in a missile attack during the Iraq war which they wanted no part of – they were just innocent bystanders.

Does that make what she is about to do in the future with her powers just or not?

Kalila’s tale will be a long one – and I have in idea where it will go and where it will end…. only when the stars go out one by one
